A MAN OF CHARACTER
Bishop Dr. Carlos A. Jones was baptized as a child in 1968. He sang in the choir, served as a junior usher, and was later a junior deacon. In the process, he developed a passion for knowledge and desired to know more. Over the years he faced many trials and tribulations, ups and downs, but through the experience, he progressively grew in the Lord. Bishop Dr. Jones has truly been a service to mankind, which he was created to do by God.
HIS MINISTRY & EDUCATION
Bishop Jones attended Atlantic Coast and Emmanuel Theological Seminary School. While attending Emmanuel Theological Seminary School, In 2019 he received his Master’s Degree in Theology and his Doctorate Degree in 2022. God prepared this shepherd for the journey that was ahead. His knowledge and faith grew beyond measure as he served for 22 years as the Pastor of New Life Christian Ministries in Nashville, TN.
HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD GAVE HIM THE ANSWER TO OBEDIENCE
On March 26, 2014, Bishop Jones became the Pastor at Gospel United Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Frank Kelly Sr. was serving as the Interim Pastor. Carlos A. Jones was elected unanimously to be Pastor of Gospel United Missionary Baptist Church in 2015. Pastor Jones was installed as Pastor on October 18, 2015. God later showed him a vision which was to place the church under spiritual construction. While nurturing with lots of love, it turned out to be a beautiful place to worship. Since then, the church has been called to be “The Church of Love”. This is our Christian charity. Bishop was obedient to God and nurtured Gospel United with love, guidance, and the uncompromising word.
HIS FAMILY
Bishop Jones is married to the beautiful Lady Stephanie Jones. They have been married for 37 years, and to this union, they have 5 beautiful children. Lady Jones serves in different ministries. She is active in Sunday School, and Women’s Ministry, but most of all, she has been very supportive to her husband through his journey. She is a Godly woman with such grace and a warm greeting. Together, Bishop and Lady Jones are the epitome of a God-fearing union.
THE HEART OF A SHEPHERD
Bishop Jones has worked in the Nashville Prison System, for several years. He has the perfect setting to minister to lost souls, pray, and encourage the inmates. He has a heart of gold and a teaching ministry that is phenomenal. His teaching and counseling to the sheep is filled with the Holy Spirit that directs his path in many ways. In February 2019, Bishop Jones was consecrated and appointed as Tennessee State Bishop within the Alpha and Omega International fellowship. Bishop Jones is a true servant leader. His unique leadership style has brought many souls to Christ. He is a man of faith, integrity, and humility. God has truly blessed Gospel United with a visionary leader.
